Brief History Of ATBU

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University’ (ATBU) is a federal technology university located in Bauchi, Northern Nigeria. The university University takes its name from Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, The Federal Republic of Nigeria’s first Prime Minister. The motto of the University is “Doctrina Mater Artium” which means “Education is the mother of the practical arts”.

Dr Jerome Udoji and Professor A. O. Adekola respectively as Pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, while Alh. Adamu Aliyu was the university’s first Registrar. The academic units of the University divided into schools and programmes until 2014 when the National Universities Commission (NUC) approved the change of nomenclature from school to faculty and from programmes to Departments.

  • Generate Remita Retrieval Reference [RRR], make payment of Two Thousand Naira only [N2,000 only] as an online screening fee to ATBU using any commercial bank of your choice.
  • Upload a photo of your recent passport size.
  • Fill out the Bio-Data Form, as given, and other related fields.
  • Provide your Scratch Card Pin Number for verification of O’Level i.e. WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, (any awaiting result should be indicated for any relevant subject and could be uploaded at a later date.
  • The portal will remain open from August 5th-19th, 2020 to allow you to upload your data.

Note:- At the point of physical screening at the Faculty/Central Levels, the original copies of your certificates will be checked in due course to ensure your qualification to the course you have subscribed for.
