The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is an internationally recognized Nigerian university located in Akoka, Lagos State. The university was founded in 1963.The main campus is located at Akoka, Yaba, while the Medical Campus of the College of Medicine is located a few kilometers from the main campus at Idi-Araba, Surulere, all on the Lagos mainland. It has three Campuses in the Mainland of Lagos. UNILAG presently has over 44,000 undergraduates studying different courses. Presently, the number of postgraduate students in the Institution is over 12,000. The University has built a legacy of excellence and has been instrumental in the production of top range graduates and academia who have had tremendous impact, directly or indirectly, on growth and development in Nigeria.
Most faculties are located on the main campus except the Faculties of Dental Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Pharmacy, Basic Medical Sciences, which are located within the College of Medicine in Idi Araba.
